Five People That Had A Worse Weekend Than You: Car Flips, Breakdowns and Decapitation

For the past few weeks, I’ve had Sundays to myself. No responsibilities, nothing due on Monday…and it was weird! I’m super excited to be back and bringing you the stories of people that had a worse weekend than you. So let’s get right to it!

Demaryius Thomas

This guy is actually having a rough few months, but this weekend didn’t make it any better.

Thomas tore his Achilles right before Christmas and was out for the rest of the season. The Texans cut the five-time Pro Bowler last week, so my guess is that Thomas was a little pissed when he was driving around Denver early Saturday morning – so much so that he flipped his car.

According to Denver police, Thomas, another name and a woman were in the car when Thomas lost control of the car in the downtown area, causing it to flip and roll into a grassy median.  Thomas and the other man suffered minor injuries, while the woman suffered slightly more (although not super serious) trauma.

No word on if Thomas will be charged for the accident. The hits (literally and figuratively) just keep on coming.

Whoever Was Responsible For This Train

Listen, public transportation in the U.S. isn’t something we should be proud of. Have you ever been to Paris? Or London? It’s so easy to get around on public transportation that I could do it in France without speaking French. But while we aren’t exactly in the position to mock, I’m going to mock India anyway.

On Friday, Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi inaugurated the Vande Bharat Express, the fastest train in the country. On Saturday, it broke down on its first trip between the northern city of Varanasi and New Delhi. Communication issues between the last four cars of the train and the rest of the carriages forced a termination of the trip at Chamrola Station, about 120 miles away from New Delhi.

The high-speed train can carry more than 1100 passengers and complete the trip between New Delhi and Varanasi in about 8 hours, cutting travel time from the previous 11 hours…but I’m guessing we are back to the extra 3 hours for now.

Sean ‘P. Diddy’ Combs

Well, not P. Diddy exactly. But a reasonably close facsimile made out of wax.

Combs’ wax replica at Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum near Times Square in New York City was decapitated Saturday night around 8:45pm. According to The Daily News, an NYPD spokesman confirmed. “An unidentified male pushed it to the ground causing the head to be decapitated from the body.”

Seriously, dude? Out of all the “people” at Madame Tussaud’s, you had to take out Diddy? I mean, according to their website, the museum features statues of Conor McGregor, Carmelo Anthony, and even Donald Trump. Leave the original Bad Boy alone.

The Marvel Universe

Honestly, this whole superhero thing isn’t my jam, but I know it is a lot of people’s, and I know a lot of people were pissed to hear that two TV series set in the universe were just canceled.

According to Mashable, both The Punisher and Jessica Jones have been canceled by Netflix. The already-shot third season of Jessica Jones will air, while the season two finale of The Punisher will be the series finale.

In a statement to Deadline, Netflix said:

Marvel’s The Punisher will not return for a third season on Netflix. Showrunner Steve Lightfoot, the terrific crew, and exceptional cast including star Jon Bernthal, delivered an acclaimed and compelling series for fans, and we are proud to showcase their work on Netflix for years to come.

In addition, in reviewing our Marvel programming, we have decided that the upcoming third season will also be the final season for Marvel’s Jessica Jones. We are grateful to showrunner Melissa Rosenberg, star Krysten Ritter and the entire cast and crew, for three incredible seasons of this groundbreaking series, which was recognized by the Peabody Awards among many others.

We are grateful to Marvel for five years of our fruitful partnership and thank the passionate fans who have followed these series from the beginning.

The last season of Jones will mark the end of Marvel series on Netflix. I hope for all of your sakes’ there are some movies in the pipeline.

Lizzie Thompson

Now, I don’t know Lizzie, but I do know that Lizzie had this experience over the weekend:

Honestly, I’m not sure which one is worse.
