Remember back in the day when you A.) weren’t allowed to stay up to watch Saturday Night Live and B.) weren’t old enough to get most of the jokes anyway? Luckily for most of us, there was a reasonable sketch-comedy substitution: Nickelodeon’s All That. And now it’s coming back for a whole new generation.
Interestingly, the reboot of the show will be executive produced by the one person who has starred on both, Kenan Thompson. He told Variety, “It means everything to me. It was my first job that I ever had. It gave me an opportunity.” Brian Robbins, who was co-creator and an executive producer of the original series, is now president of the network and pitched the idea to Thompson.
No word on a launch date for the reboot, but Thompson has confirmed he’ll be staying on SNL while exec producing All That, saying ““If I’m not at the table read, I’ll be on the phone during the table read, I’ll be around.”
Does that mean there’s hope for a Good Burger sketch?! I must admit what would excite me the most, though – an Amanda Bynes cameo.
