This week’s special guest on The Clock Out’s “Pet of the Week” is a special guy named Walker. His parents are Single Malt Fiend and LadyVoldemort16. You can follow him on Instagram at Walker, Texas Basset.
He is a lemon colored Basset Hound and a good floppy boy. Walker was the runt of the litter and is 1.5 years old. Walker’s favorite things include napping on comfy furniture, playing with his wide array of toys, chasing doves and general puppy activities. There are no surfaces in the house off limits and quite honestly, I don’t know how you could with this face.
I would love nothing more than to sit next to the fire and scratch his ears. Basset ears are like silk. I’m told from his parents that he is quite a ham. Walker is the center of attention everywhere he goes and unsurprisingly, he gets compliments left and right.
I always wondered how they don’t trip over their ears. There is nothing funnier than watching them attempt to run. I’ve been lucky to watch Walker grow up via Twitter. I mean how can you not love baby Walker.
One of the nicest dogs I’ve ever met was a Basset Hound named Waffles. His owner was an older man in all khaki with a safari hat. At the time, my buddy went to the University of Tennessee so it is not uncommon to see hounds around due to the mascot, Smokey. Bassets are so friendly and lazy, how can you not love them?
If you have a pet you’d like to highlight, whether it’s a dog, cat, bird, lizard, snake or what have you, please send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org titled, “Pet of the Week” along with some information about your pet, Twitter handle, a few pictures for the article and Twitter. I cannot promise when it will be published, but I will do my very best to bring a new face and story every Friday at noon for your viewing pleasure.
