This Week In Ridiculous Holidays: August 26th – September 2nd

Why is that the weeks before short weeks always feel like the longest weeks? As we slowly creep toward Labor Day weekend, there isn’t even really any good holidays to celebrate this week. Like, who cares about the Power Rangers and the state of South Carolina when there is a long weekend ahead? Although, I’d really like someone to tell me who Chicken Boy is.

Monday, August 26

National WebMistress Day

Well, this sounds vaguely pervy.

National Dog Day

Fill my insta with your dog pics, please.

National Women’s Equality Day

Women still make only $0.79 for every dollar men make in 2019. Noodle on that for a little bit.

National Cherry Popsicle Day

Yes, cherry is perhaps the best popsicle flavor.

Tuesday, August 27

National Pots De Creme Day

Can’t we just call it chocolate mousse?

National Just Because Day

Celebrating the comeback reasoning of parents’ everywhere!

Wednesday, August 28

National Power Rangers Day

Personally, I always found the Power Rangers a little creepy.

National Bow Tie Day

Ladies – comment below: bow ties on a guy – yes or no?

Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day

Pour one out for all the pets we’ve lost.

National Cherry Turnovers Day

Not a fan.

Thursday, August 29

National Chop Suey Day

Also not a fan.

Friday, August 30

National Toasted Marshmallow Day

Geez, am I gonna starve this week?

National Grief Awareness Day

Oh, trust me – I am AWARE.

National College Colors Day

Buy a shirt to wear – it’s not like you’ve already given them all of your money already.

Saturday, August 31

National South Carolina Day

Fun fact: The salamander is the official state amphibian. And here I thought that it was Lindsay Graham.

National Matchmaker Day

Stay away from me.

National Diatomaceous Earth Day

“Diatomaceous earth is made from the fossilized remains of tiny, aquatic organisms called diatoms. Their skeletons are made of a natural substance called silica. Over a long period of time, diatoms accumulated in the sediment of rivers, streams, lakes, and oceans. Today, silica deposits are mined from these areas.” Okie dokie.

National Trail Mix Day

I like anything that allows me to eat M&Ms and claim it’s healthy.

Sunday, September 1, 2019

National Chicken Boy’s Day

Um, what’s a chicken boy?

National No Rhyme (Nor Reason) Day

Pretty much the reason for everything that happens in my life.

Monday, September 2, 2019

National Blueberry Popsicle Day

Ew, what?

Labor Day

“Labor Day honors the American labor movement and the contributions that workers have made to the development, growth, endurance, strength, security, prosperity, productivity, laws, sustainability, persistence, structure, and well-being of the country.” Thanks to all you working peeps out there.
