We start this week with an actual important holiday, Veterans’ Day; a day for honoring all of those who have protected our nation and our freedom. Then we follow it up with a bunch of food foolishness, including pickles, hermit cookies, raisin bran and homemade bread. Is there a food that doesn’t have a holiday?
Monday, November 11th
“To us in America, the reflections of Armistice Day will be filled with solemn pride in the heroism of those who died in the country’s service and with gratitude for the victory.”
– President Woodrow Wilson, 1919, in proclaiming Armistice Day (which would later become Veterans Day) on the anniversary of the end of World War I.
National Sundae Day
How about you buy a veteran a sundae?

National French Dip Day
Not my favorite.
National Pizza with the Works Except Anchovies Day
I’m pretty much a cheese pizza girl.

What is this? Would I like it?
World Kindness Day
I know I’m naïve, but can we just be kind to each other every day?
National Educational Support Professionals Day
Anyone that works with kids deserves their own day, as that there’s no way in hell I’d have the patience.
Thursday, November 14th
National Family PJ Day
This would probably make more sense on a weekend when we could stay in our pajamas?
National Pickle Day
National Spicy Guacamole Day
Friday, November 15th
National Bundt (Pan) Day
I may celebrate by going to the Nothing Bundt Cakes that just opened by my house…

National Button Day
I mean, they are pretty necessary in life, but I don’t know if they need a day.
National Indiana Day
December 11 is Indiana Day. Adopted in 1925, it is the anniversary of Indiana’s statehood. So why the hell are we celebrating it today?
Sunday, November 17th
National Baklava Day
My former sister-in-law was Greek, and I have to say…it’s the baklava I miss the most.
National Take A Hike Day
Stop trying to make me outdoorsy. I am not outdoorsy.
National Homemade Bread Day
I’m a very good baker but bread is not my jam. Which is probably good for my waistline.
